Upper Eyelid Surgery in India (Steps)

  1. Markings: Carefully marking of incision site
  2. Incision: Cut is given in the natural crease of eyelid so that there is no visible scar. Very thin incision is used to take out excess skin, muscle or fat and rejuvenate eyelid.
  3. Stitch: Stitch is removed after a week and it is well hidden.

Lower Eyelid Surgery in India (Steps)

  1. Markings: Carefully marking of incision site either along lash line or inner side of lid.
  2. Incision: Cut is given in the natural crease of eyelid so that there is no visible scar. Very thin incision is used to take out excess skin, muscle or fat and rejuvenate eyelid. The other incision is transconjunctival which is on the eyelid.
  3. Stitch: Stitch is removed after a week if lash line incision is uses and if inside eyelid, it is well hidden and doesn’t require closure with stitch.

For the lower eyelid, Dr. Chugh uses special 3 point transconjunctival blepharoplasty. This technique involves 3 small cuts inside the lid that doesn’t require any stitch.

Recovering from Blepharoplasty or Eyelid Surgery in India

Most common complaints during recovery:

  • Blurred vision due to dry eyes
  • Mild pain
  • Swelling/puffy lids
  • Pain or discomfort
  • Bruising around eyes
  • Watering eyes

Blepharoplasty in India is mostly day care surgery that is you can return home after few hours. There will be some swelling for few days that resolves. You have to apply cold compression every two hours for 10 minutes that will help reduce swelling and bruising.

Avoid social activities for 10-12 days and any make up or contact lenses for two weeks.
